About Our Doctor

Sarah Covey, MD

Board-Certified Ophthalmologist & Cataract Surgeon

Dr. Sarah M. Covey, MD is a board-certified, full-time comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract treatment. Dr. Covey completed her ophthalmology residency at the highly esteemed program at Louisiana State University after completing her medical school training and internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She has written and published papers and given presentations on topics ranging from posterior vitreous detachments to glaucoma testing, and is delighted to treat patients with a wide variety of ocular diseases.

After completing her training at LSU, she became well-versed in a wide range of intraocular lenses for cataract surgery and is personally committed to ensuring her patients receive individualized treatment plans to best meet their vision needs, whether through cataract or presbyopia-correcting surgeries. She has a special interest in cataract surgery and graduated from residency with the highest surgical numbers in her graduating class — and, even more notably, with the highest cataract surgery numbers in the history of her residency program.

She speaks some Spanish and has a special interest in medical missions both at home and abroad. Over the past decade, she has participated in multiple mission trips to Spanish-speaking countries and worked in free health clinics serving low-income Spanish-speaking patients. Most recently, in 2025, she traveled to Guatemala to restore sight to patients in rural communities through small-incision cataract and pterygium surgeries.

She has a pretty clear vision for what her clinic should be.

After years of building her practice and her roots in Northwest Arkansas, Dr. Covey is thrilled to begin a new chapter: opening Clear Vision Clinic, an independent practice of her own. She's spent years thinking carefully about exactly what she wants her clinic to be — unhurried, individualized care, built in true partnership with the local optometrists who trust her with their patients' eyes.
